I assist business owners, small to medium enterprises, large corporates and individuals in three areas:
1. General civil litigation. Essentially, I help business owners of all sizes of organisation, and individuals facing commercial legal problems to fix them.
2. General employment law issues (both contentious and non-contentious).
3. Education law. I have built a specific expertise assisting Principals and Boards on governance and employment issues, within their unique operating environments.
If you have an existing or potential problem in any of these areas and want a clear steer about how to resolve it, I can help. You will get open, pragmatic advice. I’ll give you an honest assessment of your situation (be it good or bad), and I’ll talk you through the process so that at any point, you’ll know where things are at and where they’re going.
My background:
I was born and raised in Christchurch. I worked as a criminal and civil litigator after graduating in 1990 until 1994 when I moved to the UK for three years. While there I worked for a local authority and the investors’ compensation scheme, where I provided advice about coverage to the Board.
I returned to New Zealand in 1997, working at Cooney Lees Morgan and for myself in Tauranga before moving to Christchurch in 2004. I spent five years at Anderson Lloyd and two as a Barrister in Canterbury Chambers. I returned to Tauranga in May 2011 and joined RHJL.
